Movie Night – Sunday September 14th

Sunday, September 14, 2014, a comedy ”Vieraalla Maalla - Land of Love” with English subtitles will be shown at the Scan Center, Heritage Room at 5 p.m. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Admission $7.00 / person for coffee/tea and pastry.

Tuomas Linna borrows the identity of his Ingushetian friend, Omar Ghaala, for his research on how foreigners are treated in Finland. Dressed up as Omar, Tuomas falls in love with Omar’s Finnish teacher, Hanne, but can’t bring himself to reveal his true identity. Omar’s past catches up with Tuomas and whisks him off to the backward Ostrobothnian countryside, where the coil of white lies finally starts unraveling and the truth is bared. Land of Love is a fast-paced comedy of mixed identities – and love. ~ Baseline StudioSystems
